Spontaneously stopped in at very short notice to have a watch battery replaced the day before a wedding. The gentleman in store was happy to accommodate even at this late stage and done a wonderful job of cleaning my watch up also. Great service and would definitely recommend his work, will definitely use this business again.

I visited Paul’s shop a few months back after my great grandfathers ‘John Bennett’ clock was damaged by my cat deciding to swipe it onto the floor and damage it, I imagine in a sort of chronometric reconstruction of Schrodinger’s Cat. Paul expertly and meticulously serviced the clock and managed to get it working again in double quick time. This really is a great shop, a pendulum palace that is full of beautiful and rare antique clocks. All of which are curated by someone who clearly takes pride in their work as well as being an expert in the field and all round smashing chap. Paul it was a pleasure to meet you and visit your shop and thank you once again for servicing and repairing my clock.

I recently bought a twenty year old automatic Omega Chronograph watch from Its About Time and they have been superb. They offered a guarantee and, like many ‘pre-loved’ watches, mine needed a little work done. Paul and Simon resolved the issue quickly, expertly and without any fuss at all. The service from these guys has been superb and, at +/- 2s a day, my Omega now keeps better time than it was supposed to when new!

I didn’t know that “It’s About Time” repaired watches but they repaired my TAG and serviced it. They had it for a few weeks as discussed but when it came back…Wow! It’s 10 years old and never worked properly until now. Worth every penny. Extremely happy. It had been serviced twice before by supposedly TAG agents, but always came back still not working properly. They really did it properly! They also repaired by Mother’s clock years ago and it hasn’t missed a beat since. Thank you.

I popped in with a cuckoo clock and wall clock that weren’t working correctly. In a matter of minutes, they were fixed and were both up and running again. The only problem is I don’t have an excuse for being late now! Thank you for your help

My first experience with this shop was via their website – probably over 10 years ago.  Since then I’ve visited their shop in Westcliff a number of times and they always a superb range of longcase and other antique clocks.  Genuine quality antiques at very reasonable provincial prices.

Owner is very knowledgeable yet approachable – nothing is too much trouble.  Highly recommend that you visit – it’s like getting a personal tour of a Clock Museum !

Came into this  beautiful shop today, by chance as I had a new watch purchased for my birthday. Other places were declining removing links due to the speciality, however the lovely man did this with no problems! Might I add this shop is un-real, full of beautiful pieces. Definitely recommend and definitely will be back!

Hello again Paul,

I just wanted to update you and tell you that Mum was so pleased with her “little brass clock”, and that it is running well again and looking like a clock should.

She was very surprised when I got it out of its box, and wondered why I was showing her, her own clock, but once she saw it in all its glory and the dome back on and the face “readable” etc., she was a bit confused for a moment, until I told her about what you had done for her, and the information you have given us too about its history. We still are unsure where my grandfather got it from but it is likely it was from his relation who was a watch and clock mender too!

So thanks very much for helping us out, and especially letting us have it back slightly early. And I wanted my husband to see your fascinating shop too, it’s like stepping back in “time” – pun intended!!!

Beautiful! Many thanks for your efforts with this little time piece, we will make sure it stays looking fit and well for its future years ahead.

Kind regards,

– Leslie Dowling & Mum.
