Exceptional Table Clock – Viner

£0.00

Charles Edward Viner was working in Clerkenwell, London from the 1780’s until 1879 and this twin fusee (chain), six pillar clock with maintaining power, quarter striking and strike-silent, is a rare example of his exquisite clock making.  The Architectural pediment is removable (quite unique) and allows for careful regulation and viewing of the rather special, jeweled lever escapement. The case is constructed of Walnut and has fluted columns at all four corners. The dial quite possibly from the same workshops as Thomas Cole’s, beautifully engraved and gilded. Rear winding, rear hand set and strike silent lever, with a sub seconds dial below the Twelve. The dimensions of this clock can be seen below, it is quite small, although it does have a ‘large’ sound as the gongs are soft and deep. This clock has just arrived and will be undergoing a full restoration. Please message us to reserve.

Please remember we are closed Sundays and Mondays,.
