Gustave Sandoz, G’Sonnerie, Alarm

£0.00

A fine and large ‘Grande Sonnerie’ carriage clock in a gilt gorge case with a gilt engine turned, masked White enamel dial, fine Roman numerals and unusually Romans for the alarm dial. Push repeat and striking on two tuned gongs. The clock is signed on spine of the back plate Gustave Sandoz eleve de Breguet, 147-148 Palais Royal, Paris. G.Sandoz was established in Paris in 1865 and his son Gustave Roger Sandoz joined him aRound 1890. Gustave Senior was a Student of Breguet. The clock retains the original large Silvered platform and jeweled lever escapement which is also unusual and again very high quality. Number stamped 8152. Grande sonnerie striking or petite sonnerie and fully silent if you wish. The push repeat button to repeat the last hour and quarter. Thick bevelled glass panels to all sides and with a chime selection lever to the base. Circa 1870-90. The outer leather covered case it is supplied with is not the original but is a good fit and contemporary to the clock.
