Henry Marc Mantel Clock
A fine Mantel clock with a ‘silk suspension’ and carry handle. These clock were know in France as the ‘Pendule Portative’ or Campaign Clock. The case of this clock is constructed of Oak and has Rosewood veneers with fancy boxwood inlays and ebonised details. The bezel and handle are cast brass and show signs of the original gilding. The clocks ‘face’ or dial is white vitreous enamel with Roman numerals and the makers name, the dial is perfect with no hairlines , cracks or chips. The hands are the original design, popular around the mid 19th Century. The top shows a small lenticle to view the movement and the back has a latched, lift out door. The clock is shown fully restored. We have completely overhauled the clock and it is sold with a 24 Month Guarantee in writing. This is a very attractive and small mantel clock in wonderful condition and by a very well known and respected clock maker Henry Marc, his company produced high quality clocks throughout the 19th Century and often are portable small clocks.
