John Hills, East Grinstead

A decorative laquer and ebonised longcase clock by John Hills, recorded working in the 1820’s in East Grinstead. We would date this clock slightly earlier at around 1810. The clock shows a full engraved brass dial with strike silent to the arch, makers name and calendar. A good quality 8 day duration movement which strikes the hour on a bell.
