Bourdin Carriage Clock Push Repeat – Alarm.

Of all the carriage clock makers working in France throughout the 19th Century, Bourdin was (in my opinion) at the top. This very good example of his work has the engraved dial mask and signed dial. The engraving is crisp and beautiful with flowers and scrolls. The gilded ‘corniche’ shape case has engraving to all sides and bevelled glass. The clock has push repeat and alarm functions. It has just had a full ‘strip down’ service & overhaul and photo’s can be supplied of this restoration if needed. The dial has Roman numerals and the name of Bourdin Hor Du Roi, a Paris (Horologer to the King). Bourdin was recorded working from 1844 in Paris and had a small workshop and retail shop on the Rue De La Paix.  An investment grade clock and a truly wonderful example to own. This clock dates circa 1890.  Original throughout and striking on a gong. Supplied with a period outer protective Morrocan leather case and double key.
